From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 24, come to the large pavilion at Catasauqua Park for a hoedown throwdown sponsored by the George Taylor House. Diane and the Contradeceptives will walk you through the steps starting 7 p.m. No experience or partner is needed.

There will be food and drinks available for purchase.

Tickets sold in advance are $2 cheaper than at the door and can be purchased at borough hall or Catty Beverage, 16 W. Race St.

As a reminder, Catasauqua Fire Police’s seventh annual car show will be held at Catasauqua Park by the pool 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 24.

Music entertainment will be by Richy Smith and the Crush.

There will be food, a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.

Members of the fire police are looking for nonfood vendors for the event.
