The police K-9 trials scheduled for Sept. 25 at the high school stadium are being postponed to an undetermined date in spring 2017, due to unexpected circumstances.

Harry S Truman Elementary School will hold its open house for parents of students in kindergarten through second grade 7 to 8:15 p.m. Sept. 22. Come out and meet the teachers and learn about what is in store for this school year.

The Sept. 26 “Coffee and Conversation” meeting at the administration building has been rescheduled to 6 p.m. Oct. 3. This will be a time to meet with Superintendent Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss and Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Lynn Fuini-Hetten to discuss topics which impact district schools. If you cannot make this time, several other events will be held throughout the year at various days and times.

There will be a curriculum and technology meeting in the administration building 7 p.m. Sept. 26.

HST will have school photo day Sept. 26. Look for more information to be sent home regarding photo packages available.

Salisbury High School will hold its dual enrollment meeting 6 p.m. Sept. 29. Following this meeting, the SHS open house will begin 6:45 p.m.

Believe it or not, Sept. 30 marks the midway point of the first quarter for Salisbury Middle School and SHS. Time is already flying by.

Oct. 3 will be the next operations committee meeting 7 p.m. at the administration building.

The HST PTO will have the first meeting of the school year 7 p.m. Oct. 3. Come out and see how you can help support the HST students.

The Eastern Salisbury Fire Department will hold its annual community day 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 8.

The Franko Farm yard waste site will be open 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sept. 24 and 27.
