John C. McFadden, 82, of Allentown and formerly of Macungie, died Sept. 8, 2016, in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Joan A. (Brown) McFadden. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Dennis J. and Esther (Robinhold) McFadden.

He was a 1951 graduate of Allentown High School.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He began working in 1955 as a welder at Mack Trucks, Inc., Allentown, and retired in 1985 as a general superintendent of manufacturing operations.

He was a volunteer organizer for the Allentown Fair for many years. He was a member and past president of the Hogan’s Social Club in Allentown and a lifetime member of the Bocce Club, East Allentown.

He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl McFadden-Sabet, of Fountain Hill; a sister, Denise and her husband Robert Wilt, of Macungie; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was predeceased by a son, Dennis J.

There will be a calling hour 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Sept. 16 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 920 S. Second St., Allentown.
