Marilyn “Susie” M. Brown, 83, of Fogelsville, formerly of Pottstown, died Sept. 4, 2016, in Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township.

She and her husband Richard J. Brown were married 54 years on July 14.

Born Aug. 9, 1933, in Upper Macungie Township, she was the daughter of the late James P. and Marydena M. (Fegley) Mohr.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fogelsville.

A graduate of William Allen High School and Temple University, Ambler Campus, she earned a degree in horticulture and landscape design.

She was also a former Girl Scout leader, trainer and consultant.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Margaret L. “Peggy” Brown with whom she resides, Eric J. and his wife, Jill, of Collegeville; sister Sally A. Kern of Fogelsville; grandchildren, Jeremy P. Brown, Caitlin E. Nahrgang, Austin T. Brown, Lauren N. Nahrgang, Nathan N. Nahrgang and Emily E. Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter Elizabeth L. Gibson, M.D. and brothers Rudy and Leroy Mohr.

Her funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sept.10 at St. John’s UCC, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, with the Rev. Irvin S. Moore officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the church.

Interment will follow the service in the adjacent church cemetery.
