Gloria A. “Dolly” Baer, 83, formerly of Schnecksville, died Sept. 4, 2016, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.

She was the wife of the late Victor L. Baer.

Born Aug. 13, 1933, in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late Roy W. and Irene C. (Sheffler) Dorshimer.

She was a school aide at Schnecksville Elementary School for 20 years before retiring.

She was an honorary life member of Copeechan Fish and Game Club, Schnecksville, and a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

Her survivors include children Vicki S. Sorg and her husband, Frank, of Slatington, Candice A. Chorney of Schnecksville, Nancy L. Jones and her husband, Douglas, of Wescosville, Michael V. Baer and his wife, Deborah, of Whitehall, Stephen M. Baer of New Tripoli; siblings Robert Dorshimer of Walnutport, Betty Henry of Slatington; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Natalie.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Sept. 9, 2016, in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Kris P. Snyder-Samuelson officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
