As a reminder, storytime with Miss Veronica will be 11 a.m. Sept. 8, 15 and 22. No registration is necessary, and all ages are welcome to attend.

The library will host an open house and volunteer appreciation day 3-7 p.m. today, Sept. 8. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Vouchers for mums are still on sale. Purchase your voucher and take it to Hickory Grove Greenhouse, 1096 Milton St., North Catasauqua. The library will receive a portion of each voucher sold.

Also, don’t forget to stop in and see our selection of garden flags for sale.

We have a 50/50 raffle going on during September, and tickets are on sale now: You can buy one, 12 or 25 tickets for a cost.

The drawing will be held 4 p.m. Oct. 8.

The library will have a Samuel Owens Restaurant fundraiser night 4-9 p.m. Sept. 13 (eat-in only, no take-out). Samuel Owens will donate 10 percent of your check to the library.

It’s a perfect night out - no cooking, no dishes and the library receives a donation. Everybody wins!

Stop by during the month of September and donate to our food drive. No expired items can be accepted. All proceeds will go to Coplay Food Bank.

You may bring in items during regular hours.

Our annual October book and bake sale will be 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8. We also will have a preview night 4-7 p.m. Oct. 6 for an admission charge.

Donations for the sale are still being accepted. Accepted items are books and DVDs. We do not accept VHS tapes, textbooks or encyclopedias. We also cannot accept items that have been damaged by smoke or are dirty, ripped or torn.

All donations are tax deductible, and you will receive a thank you letter.

If you have any items for the sale, drop them off during library hours.

Looking ahead to October, we will be having another comedy night at Ramada Inn, a Boscov’s fundraiser and a 5 Below shopping event.

Details will be released shortly.

The library will be getting new carpeting soon, which will require us to be closed for several days. We will announce more details as soon as we know the dates.
