Francis E. Harkins

Francis E. “Pat” Harkins, Jr., 90, of Emmaus, died Aug. 18, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Ruth A. (Nagle) Harkins. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Francis E. Sr. and Dorothy (Wagner) Harkins.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.

He was an Army veteran serving during World War II.

He was a salesman in the meat industry for 45 years, beginning his career with Wilson Meats in Allentown and retiring from Berks Meats in Reading. He later worked part-time as a chauffeur for Siegfried Chauffeur Service, Allentown.

He was a lifetime member of the Fearless Fire Co. and was a member of the Emmaus Veterans Committee.

He is survived by daughters, Eileen Spohn and Linda and her husband Richard Kreitz; granddaughter, Alison Kreitz; great-granddaughter, Tylynn. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Donald Spohn.
