Gerald S. Kresge

Gerald S. Kresge, 68, from Schnecksville, died Aug. 21, 2016, in his home.

He and his wife Mary Ann (Redline) Kresge were married 48 years on June 30.

Born May 16, 1948, in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Donald J. and Mary (Machalec) Kresge.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era earning the rank of sergeant.

He was a maintenance supervisor at ELS Properties for 12 years before retiring.

Prior to that, he worked in the maintenance department of the former Keystone Lamp Factory, Slatington, for 25 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Stacy A. Dreisbach and her husband, Jeffery, of Orefield; son Gerald S. II and his companion, Paula Douris, of Schnecksville; sisters Janet Kresge of Wilkes Barre, Ann Woginrich and her husband, Terry, and Sharon Minnich and her husband, Brian, all of Palmerton; grandchildren Nathan and Cooper Kresge, and Hannah Douris.

His memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Sept. 2, in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.

Family and friends may pay their respects 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
