Evan Philip Adams, 82, of Allentown, formerly of Emmaus, died peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospital, July 31, 2016, lovingly surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Janet Althea (Rohrbach) Adams. They were married 62 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Elmer L. and Ida M. (Fegley) Adams.
He was the proprietor of the former Adams Barber Shop which was located at Fifth and Elm streets in Emmaus. Later he was the co-owner along with his wife of The Chestnut Greenery, Emmaus, until retiring.
He was a lifetime member of St. John’s U.C.C., Emmaus.
He is survived by his wife; children, Greg, of Breinigsville, Cheryl Jordan, of Barto, Sally and her husband Rick Held, of Center Valley; grandchildren, Rebecca Hutchison, Rachel Krock, Benjamin, James Jordan, Sam Jordan, Kim O’Donnell, Amanda Held; great-grandchildren, Reed Hutchison, Olan Krock, Maura Krock, Faith, Maggie, Anthony O’Donnell, Riley O’Donnell; brother and sister in-laws, Dr. George Rohrbach and wife Lana, Louise Rohrbach, Alice; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Sarah, LaRue Dankel, Dorthea Jenny, Gloria Schlegel and Winfield.
He was loving, kind, caring and charismatic to all.
Services are private. Arrangements were made by the David J. Boyko Funeral Home, Macungie.
