Daniel S. Dzury

Daniel S. Dzury, 86, of Macungie, died Aug. 17, 2016, while in hospice care at Arden Courts of Allentown. He was the husband of Donna (Huffman) Dzury. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Helen and Michael Dzury.

He was a 1948 graduate of GAR High School, attended Wilkes College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1952. He obtained a Master of Science in biology from New York University in 1958.

He had a lengthy career working as a chemist and in other capacities at Boyle Midway, a division of American Home Products, Cranford, N.J., beginning in 1952. While at Boyle Midway, he took great pride in developing a number of well-known home products, such as Wizard Air Fresheners and Easy-Off Oven Cleaner. It goes without saying friends and family of his always had spotless ovens and the freshest smelling homes!

He was an accomplished singer and sang tenor both in the choir at St. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Elizabeth, N.Y., as well as with the Russian Liturgical Singers and later, the Cappella Male Chorus.

He is survived by his wife; son, Stephen and his wife, Michele, of Devon; daughter, Christine and her husband Craig Struzienski, of Neshanic Station, N.J.; sister, Zoya and her husband Leon Rakowski, of Nanticoke; grandchildren, Nicolas, Adriana and Keira; niece, Melissa.

Arrangements were made by the Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Inc. of Allentown.
