For the patrons who are signed up for the adult summer reading program, we will have a book discussion in the community room 1 p.m. Aug 23 and also 6 p.m. for those who work during the day.

We will be talking about the books everyone has read since June 1. Come on in and tell us about the books you liked, disliked or did not finish at all.

Also, all patrons who are signed up for summer reading may pick up their prizes that week, too.

Whitehall Lions Club and other community organizations are sponsoring a duck race Sept. 25 as part of Stroll Along the Parkway. The race will start 1 p.m. along the Ironton Rail Trail at Hokendauqua Park.

All proceeds go toward the purchase of a closed-circuit television for Whitehall Township Public Library patrons who are visually impaired.

There is a cost for a ticket, and one ticket buys one duck. Each duck will have a number on it.

Tickets may be purchased at the library.

For cost and other information, call the library at 610-432-4339.

Bring your list of books detailing what you are reading now or books you would like to read. This is an informal get-together to share and talk about books.
