Richard Paul Sprague, 52, died his home, Aug. 8, 2016, in Delray Beach, Fla. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Pauline (Gross) Sprague and the late Frank R. Sprague.
He graduated from Salisbury High School in 1982 and from Moravian College in 1986.
He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne division, serving during the Persian Gulf War and Operation Just Cause in Panama.
He was a former employee of St. Luke’s Hospital and was a self-employed salesman.
He loved nature and became actively involved with the VA and helping other veterans. He recently started an organization, “theArtfakktory.org” to benefit his fellow veterans.
He was a former member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Allentown, where he received his Eagle Scout award.
He is survived by his daughter, Kayleigh, of Allentown; mother; sister, Renee and her husband Dave Jones and their son, Tristan, of Nazareth; uncle Charles F. Gross and his wife Joanne of Stuart, Fla.; aunts, Alice and her husband Robert Molchan, Bernadine Stapinski and Karen Stoneback, all of Bethlehem.
Contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 920 S. 2nd St., Allentown, 18103; or to a charity of one’s choice.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Aug. 20 in The Long Funeral Home, Inc., 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, 18018, where friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service.
