Corner Store 5K benefits children’s charities

The Corner Store Country Run, a 5K charity race, once again took place in the Lehigh Valley, at Lehigh University, Bethlehem.

Hundreds of people volunteered or ran the race, some decked out in country-themed apparel such as cowboy hats and barn animal costumes.

The event attracted everyone from seasoned marathoners to families and high school cross-country teams.

Top finishers in the men and women’s categories were awarded Corner Store gift cards and special medals.

After the 5K, runners took part in the “country fair,” a collection of sponsor booths, carnival games, giveaways and live music, all included in the registration fee.

The Corner Store hosts the run at nine other locations across the U.S. and Canada, in addition to the Lehigh Valley.

All proceeds from these races go to charitable causes.

The largest beneficiary is the mentoring network Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Remaining funds are donated to local children’s charities.
