Catasauqua: GTH meeting is planned for Aug. 16

George Taylor House (GTH) members will hold their next meeting 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at the new pavilion, Lehigh and Poplar streets. Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting and check out the beautiful new structure.

Additionally, the committee is looking for more volunteers. There are a lot of events coming up, such as a hoedown dance and a militia event.

GTH was built in 1768 by George Taylor, one of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971, GTH currently serves as a venue for community events, historical education and archaeological exploration.

This national treasure is open for visitation.
