Elloida O. “Sonny” Benner, 87, of Allentown, died July 25, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Jeanette R. (Boehm) Benner and the late Anna J. (Sandherr) Benner. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Stanley W. and Ardella D. (Meitzler) Benner.

Before retiring in 1990, he worked over 15 years at Cedarbrook Nursing Home with the maintenance and housekeeping departments.

He was a member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Emmaus.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Gail and her husband Donald McCormick, of Pauline, S.C.; two grandchildren, Brian and his wife Tiffany and Megan and her husband Carl Michelakos.
