Woman charged with hit and run on Marcon Boulevard
A Bethlehem woman is in jail after she allegedly hit a pedestrian while driving and fled July 30.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, Meghan Green, 30, of the 600 block of Itaska Street, was driving along Marcon Boulevard in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, when she struck Josiah Edelman with her blue Dodge Neon shortly before 4:50 p.m.
Three witnesses say they saw the car leave the roadway and strike the victim, who was walking on the shoulder of the road. One witness said Green got out of the car and briefly inspected Edelman before fleeing toward American Parkway.
Another witness told police Edelman flew “a good 10 feet in the air” after being struck.
Edelman suffered two broken legs and bleeding in his brain, police say. He was taken to St. Luke’s Fountain Hill hospital.
Green was stopped 5:10 p.m. by Allentown City police at Irving and Congress streets and determined it was she who had been driving at the time of the incident. Officers confirmed Green was driving while her license was suspended. Green related that the accident was a “blur.”
“I looked up, and there was a male on my car windshield. I then drove away.”

She was taken into custody, where she revealed that she was turning up the radio for her baby to listen to music when the accident happened.

Green was charged with causing an accident involving personal injury, driving while operating privileges were suspended, careless driving and aggravated assault by vehicle.
After failing to post a $20,000 bail, Green was taken to Lehigh County Prison.
