John L. Kroninger, 91, of Orefield, died July 30, 2016, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
He was the husband of the late Elaine B. (LaRoss) Kroninger.
Born Oct. 2, 1924, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Hazel A. (Dalton) Kroninger.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He owned and operated the former Kroninger and Sons General Hauling, Allentown, for 30 years before retiring in 1983.
He was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, South Whitehall.
His survivors include children Kathleen E. Ruch and her husband, Richard, of Schnecksville, Stephen J. Kroninger and his wife, Aviva, of New York City, N.Y., John D. Kroninger of Topton; brother Paul M. of Allentown; and grandchildren Kati, Hannah and Rachel Kroninger.
He was predeceased by his son, Harry Paul and his brother Donald.
His wish was not to have a service or calling hours.
