Donald H. Bieber

Donald H. Bieber, 87, of New Tripoli, died peacefully July 26, 2016, with his family by his side.

He and his wife Janet B. (Rex) Bieber were married 65 years on July 7.

He was head mechanic at Lowe and Moyer Trucking, Fogelsville, for 29 years before retiring.

During retirement, he owned and operated D&J Kiddie Rides for a number of years.

Born in Chapmans, he was the son of the late George I. and Pauline M. (Wotring) Bieber.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army 2nd Division in Korea from February 1951 to November of 1952 with duties as a No. 3 man on a 105 Howitzer in artillery, and litter-bearer for the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge.

He then transferred to the motor pool as a mechanic and became a staff sergeant.

He was a former fire team member of Good Will Fire Company No. 1, Trexlertown.

As a child, he enjoyed working on his Grandfather Bieber’s farm and Seidel farms.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Jeffrey D. and wife, Polly, of Allentown; daughters Gail A. Remaley of Treichlers, Bonnie L., wife of Ron Weber, and Christina D., wife of Louis Bobbyn, all of New Tripoli; sisters Lorraine P. Berger of Emmaus and Lucille K. Smith of Gilbert; grandchildren Lance, Stacey, Carla, Valerie, Blake, Brittany, Alexander, Hayden and Charlize; and great-grandchildren Logan, Zoey, Ella, Cooper and Madysen.

He was predeceased by brothers Royal T., Ernest G. and sister Gloria E. Hein.
