John R. Donmoyer, aka Homer Schneck, 97, of Allentown, died July 19, 2016, surrounded by loving family.
The husband of the late Vivian G. (Jordan), he was a son of the late John A. and Ruth B. (Young) Donmoyer.
A 1936 graduate of Allentown High School, he was an Army veteran of World War II and earned the rank of corporal.
A lifelong entrepreneur, primarily in auto sales, he served as general manager at J.H. Bennett Toyota and Becker Subaru.
He was widely recognized in the Lehigh Valley for his role as “Homer Schneck” in commercials for Eckert Bros. Music, Becker Subaru, Dietrich Meats and ABE Car Care Center.
He actively attended Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church and was a member of the TPA.
A people-oriented person who loved a good time, he embraced life one day at a time, enjoyed long car rides, amusement parks and the Great Allentown Fair.
His survivors include a son, Joseph P. and wife, Helen; daughters Judy A. Fatzinger, JoAnn G. Pope and husband, Mark; daughter-in-law Barbara A.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son John E.; brothers James A. and Theodore L.; daughter-in-law Eileen and son-in-law Berdell E. Fatzinger.
