Irene C. Hess, 84, of Slatington, passed away on June 30, 2016, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

A devoted wife, she and her husband Benjamin F. Hess were married 64 years.

She was the daughter of the late Leroy H. Sr. and Pauline C. (Roth) Hoffman.

Raised on the family farm, she worked for the garment industry for many years.

She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, and the ILGWU.

She loved watching her Phillies and Sixers, and spending time with grandchildren at their games.

She enjoyed working around her home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Keith L. of Slatington; daughter Sharlene I. Becker of Walnutport; grandchildren Ryan, Matthew, Brandon and Brianna; great-grandchildren Logan, Noah, Hunter and Benjamin; and brothers Ernest Hoffman and family of Slatington, and Stanley Hoffman of Slatington.

She was predeceased by brothers Leroy H. Jr. and Earl “Johnny” Hoffman.
