Clinton W. Kuhns

Clinton W. “Bud” Kuhns, 88, of Allentown, died July 17, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife, Ruth J. (Parry), celebrated 58 years of marriage before her death in 2013.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Clinton E. and Pearl L. (Roth) Kuhns.

He was Navy hospital corpsman from 1945-48 with duty in China.

A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, he was a pharmacist in Allentown for many years.

He served as president, vice president and secretary of the Lehigh Valley Pharmacist Association and was a long-term member of the Pennsylvania Society of Hospital Pharmacists and the Mid-Eastern Hospital Pharmacist Association.

A longtime member of St. Stephen’s and Christ Lutheran Churches, Allentown, he served as council president and vice president, chairman of worship and liturgy, as well as other functions within the church.

Active in Boy Scouts more than 60 years, he was a charter member of Sea Explorer Ship 6.

He organized first-aid meets and spring, summer and fall events on the district and council levels.

Minsi-Trails Council presented him with the Silver Beaver Award for his outstanding commitment to Scouting.

His survivors include eight nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters Dorothy Melick and Joyce Avvisato.
