The Rev. William J. “Bill” Whitney Sr., 60, of Upper Macungie Township, died July 10, 2016, surrounded by loving family.

He and his wife, Sue (Nolf), celebrated their 37th anniversary.

Born in Greenfield Mass., he was the son of the late Preston D. and Ruth T. (Suchanek) Whitney.

An ordained minister for 37 years, he was actively engaged as a senior and youth pastor and completed missionary work in Jamaica.

His interests included hunting, fishing, archery, gardening and most importantly, playing with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son William Jr. and wife, Jennifer; daughters Theresa Walakovits and husband, Joseph, Amber; sister Debra; and grandchildren Victoria, Nicholas, Olivia.
