’Tis the season for VBS
St. John’s United Church of Christ and St. John’s Lutheran will be offering joint Vacation Bible School 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 8-12 at 1027 Church St., Fogelsville.
There will be a closing celebration and picnic 11:30 a.m. Aug. 12.
The theme of VBS will be “Surf Shack: Catch the Wave of God’s Amazing Love.”

Zion’s Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, will have VBS for children ages 2 to grade sixth from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug 1-5. The theme is “Incrediworld Amazement Park.”

Munch on pizza while competing in cart races and an indoor scavenger hunt. Registration is needed to attend.
Toddler time for children 18 months to age 3 will be offered 11 a.m. July 25.
There will be stories, songs and games. Younger and older siblings may attend. An adult must stay during this free event.
Stories in the Schools will be offered 10 a.m. July 26 at Kernsville Elementary School, 5051 Kernsville Road, Orefield and 2 p.m. Jaindl Elementary School, 1051 Weilers Road.
This interactive story time and games event is for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Kids in kindergarten through eighth grade come and experience animals live from the Lehigh Valley Zoo 2 p.m. July 28 at the library.
Join Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs and practice reading to these gentle patient pups at the Read to the Pups event 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1. This event is for all ages.
Teen Book Club will meet at 2 p.m. Aug. 2 for students in seventh through 12th grade.

The library will be hosting a STEM creative session for students in second to eighth grade at the egg drop challenge 2 p.m. Aug. 4.
The Joy of Coloring class will be held 3 p.m. July 27. The library will provide the coloring pages and pencils.

Technical Tuesday for seniors will be from 3-4 p.m. Aug. 2 at Luther Crest retirement community, 800 Hausman Road, South Whitehall.

Enjoy an evening of new and unique lawn games, entertainment and complimentary beverages 6 p.m. Aug. 3 at the lawn game party.

Join library staff and health coach Sara Hume at Walk Your Cares Away 10:30 a.m. Aug. 4 at Covered Bridge Park, South Whitehall Township. Discover health tips while walking a one-and-a-half mile loop around the park.

Upper Macungie Township Movies in the Park Series will be showing “Peanuts” Aug. 5 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road. Pre-movie activities start 7 p.m.
