Dorothy Torrey

Dorothy “Dot” Torrey of South Whitehall Township died July 13, 2016.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Marian Zoll.

A graduate of the Philadelphia High School for Girls, she was a customer order representative for Rohm and Hass prior to moving with her family to the Lehigh Valley.

She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church, South Whitehall, for more than 45 years including the Pioneer class, Susanna Circle and building committee.

She volunteered for many local organizations including Friends of the Parkland Library and the Women’s Club of Allentown.

In addition to her loving husband, Dave, she is survived by sons David and his wife, Sue, of Danville, and Scott and his wife, Renee, of Ashburn, Va.; grandchildren Ryan, Logan, Ian and Aylen; sister Barbara and her husband, Bill Turner, of Washington state; a nephew, niece and cousins.

She was predeceased by several brothers and a sister.

A life celebration service will take in the sanctuary 11 a.m. Aug. 6 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, South Whitehall.

At the conclusion of the service, those attending will dismiss through the Memorial Garden.

There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Asbury in Mission (AIM) fund supporting local missions through Asbury United Methodist Church 1533 Springhouse Road Allentown, PA 18104.
