Coplay: Reinhard honored in Post 426 rename

Coplay American Legion Post 426 will pay tribute to Stanley W. Reinhard Jr., the post’s former commander who passed away months ago, by naming the South Second Street post home in his honor.

Post 426 Commander Larry Gutleber said there will be an official ceremony in October, at which the small two-level legion building will be named American Legion, Stanley W. Reinhard Jr. Post 426, Coplay.

The program is expected to draw a number of legion dignitaries, officials and folks from a large area to remember the decades of service Reinhard devoted to the American Legion and his home post in Coplay.

Decades ago, Reinhard delivered milk to homes from Freeman’s Dairy. In his young years, he had an interest in community affairs, the fire company and American Legion.

Reinhard’s devotion to the American Legion was established when he was involved in the legion’s baseball program, locally and regionally.

As Reinhard’s work with the American Legion programs grew, he was elevated to various posts locally and statewide, such as commander of the Lehigh County American Legion post and district posts, state legion commander, state American Legion adjutant and American Legion’s CEO, until retiring.
