Catasauqua Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a sale on everything in the store, unless marked otherwise, this week. Buy two for the price of one of a similar item.

Donations of good, used, clean clothing are gratefully accepted during store operation hours, which are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.

Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association is having a state historical marker dedication for the Davies and Thomas Company beginning 11 a.m. Aug. 2 at the Biery House, 8 Race St. The Davies and Thomas Company was founded in 1865 and was a pioneer in the manufacture of iron plate for lining underwater tunnels.

A Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission representative will present the marker; guest speaker will be Martha Capwell-Fox.

Refreshments will follow at the Biery House.
