Miriam L. Haas, 91, of Allentown, died June 30, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
She married Eugene Haas Jr. on March 1, 1947.
They had three children, Carol (1948), Barbara (1949) and Charles (1952).
She was predeceased by her husband Eugene (2013) and daughter Carol (2015).
She attended and graduated from Allen High School and Ursinus College.
She was a teacher for the Northwestern Lehigh School District at Weisenberg Elementary School until retiring.
Prior to that, she worked at the Lehigh County Cultural Center and was a teacher for the Parkland School District at the James W. Good Elementary School.
In retirement, she worked for the Parkland Press as a reporter.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown.
She did volunteer work at Hawk Mountain, various food banks and the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, bird watching and was physically active well into her later years, having more than a few trophies at 3K, 5K and 10K running events in the over 60 age group.
Summer mornings in retirement were spent at Cedar Beach swimming and playing cards with her friends.
She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. R.I.P. Mom.
Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
