EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Register for SYA block and tackle car show

The 2016 Salisbury Youth Association football block and tackle car show is accepting registrations for this year’s show.

All proceeds from this event go to support the SYA programs, the Salisbury Township Police Department K-9 unit and the SYA scholarship fund.

The Salisbury middle/high school cross country open workouts have begun. Interested students, in grades seven through 12, should meet at the red covered bridge in Lehigh Parkway 8 to 9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. For more information, contact Coach Bruns at tbruns@salisburysd.org. Official practice will begin Aug. 15.

Salisbury twirlers will have open gym 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays in the Salisbury Middle School gymnasium through Aug. 15. This is open to any student attending SMS or Salisbury High School in the fall and with an interest in becoming a twirler. For more information, contact ctocci@salisburysd.org

The summer library hours continue at SHS 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday. Books are available for students of all ages.

The Carkmike summer movie program continues 10 a.m. every Wednesday and Thursday. The featured movie for July 13 and 14 is “Monsters vs. Aliens” and the featured movie for July 20 and 21 will be “Rio 2.”

The Salisbury cheerleaders will hold a car wash 9 a.m. to noon July 23 at SHS.
