Melvin E. Rau, 85, of Slatington, died June 28, 2016.

He was the widower of Hilda (Gressley) Rau.

The son of the late Charles and Rosa (Kramer) Rau, he was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield.

His survivors include a daughter, Mary Anne, and son, Michael, at home; grandchildren Jason Jacobs and Paul Kelly; and two great-grandchildren.
