WARKE-HORN WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Each year, the Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association presents two scholarships named in honor of Bob Warke and Dale Horn.

The HPPA Warke–Horn Scholarship is a testimonial in recognition to their lifelong dedication to the playground association and the youth of the area.

The scholarships are awarded to one male and one female HPPA athlete who will be graduating from high school within the current fiscal year and will continue their education at a university, college or trade school within the next six months. Criteria for scholarship selection include high school academic performance, extracurricular activities and community service.

The HPPA would like to acknowledge and honor the following award winners for the class of 2016:

Female Athlete (will receive a $1000 cash award) Janelle Demko

Male Athlete (will receive a $1000 cash award) Connor Ilgenfritz

The annual HPPA Bob Warke–Dale Horn basketball tournament is the major fund raiser used to provide these scholarships. The tournament is held at the Whitehall Middle School gym at the end of each basketball season.
