SPECIAL OLYMPICS, Bethlehem, needs volunteer soccer, basketball, and gymnastic coaches for weekly practices. Soccer coaches will be needed 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sundays August to November. Gymnastics coaches are needed 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays January to June. Basketball coaches are needed 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays January to June. CEDARBROOK NURSING HOME, Allentown, needs adult (18+) volunteers to help with the “Needles & Hooks” club, which meets 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays. HISTORIC BETHLEHEM MUSEUMS AND SITES, Bethlehem, needs volunteers ages 14 and up to help with the annual Blueberry Festival July 16 and 17. A variety of positions, such as helping with setup and cleanup, manning food tents and colonial games, and parking attendants are still needed. KIDSPEACE, Orefield, needs helper volunteers ages 13+ for their soccer invitational to help with traffic, raffle drawings and manning concession stands. LEHIGH VALLEY ACADEMY REGIONAL CHARTER SCHOOL, Bethlehem, is seeking candidates to serve on its board of trustees. Candidates will serve a one to three year term without compensation and members must attend at least one board meeting and one committee meeting per month. The board of trustees meets the third Tuesday of each month. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield, needs volunteers for ranch and animal maintenance. Animal care includes feeding and clearing animal pens. Ranch maintenance duties include repairing animal pens and cleaning the grounds. Also needed are volunteer counselors (18+) for summer ranch camp in July and August. COMMUNITY BIKE WORKS, Allentown, needs “Earn-a-Bike” instructors for children ages nine through 17. Volunteers will mentor and assist children in repairing bicycles. EQUI-LIBRIUM, INC., Nazareth, needs volunteers (14+) to help as horse handlers or side helpers to assist the riding instructor and/or therapist in carrying out the riders’ individual program plan. Other volunteer opportunities are available such as office work, general barn assistance, fundraising and mailings. Training dates are July 9, Aug. 13, Sept. 10 and Oct. 15. FEED THE CHILDREN, Bethlehem, needs volunteers for its teacher store, which provides free school supplies to local educators. Seated and standing positions available. Must be friendly, reliable and professional. Volunteers are needed 2:45 to 6 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Training will be given at the beginning of the shift. MEALS ON WHEELS OF NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Bethlehem is seeking meal delivery volunteers (18+ years). Volunteer as little as twice each month or daily according to your availability. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license and car insurance. Application process includes criminal background check, orientation and on-the-road training. SHARECARE FAITH IN ACTION, Bethlehem, is looking for volunteer drivers (18+ years) to safely transport people who are elderly and/or disabled to and from doctor appointments and with grocery shopping in the Lehigh Valley. Volunteers are also needed to help others who can’t get out on their own through visitation, socializing and taking them out of the home environment. THE PERFECT FIT, Allentown is looking for fashion-savvy volunteers to help low-income women choose appropriate and professional outfits. Volunteers should love working with people, have patience, enthusiasm and a love of fashion and how it can positively impact and empower women. Other duties include sorting, tagging clothing donations and keeping boutique organized and appealing. Light lifting required. Volunteers must be able to stand for approximately three hours and be knowledgeable about current style and business casual clothing trends.
