LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Campers spend day at Jordan Lanes

Camp Cementon started off the summer on a good note. The first week of camp consisted of many games, laughs and fun at the pool.

On Monday, the campers played games that dealt with introducing themselves to their friends and getting to know everyone. Later that afternoon, we played water games outside before going to the pool.

On Tuesday, we started the day on the playground. Then, we played everyone’s favorite game of Dodgeball. Tuesday’s weather was excellent, so we stayed outside for the majority of the day.

On Wednesday, we went on a field trip to Jordan Lanes. The campers bowled two games and were provided a free lunch. Andrew S. bowled a 127, which was better than some of his fellow counselors! The staff at Jordan Lanes were very welcoming and helpful.

The weather was dreary Thursday, so we spent most of our morning inside. The kids made their arts and crafts project for the week - a clothespin caterpillar. The campers glued pom-poms and googly eyes onto clothespins and attached a magnetic strip, so they can stick it on their refrigerator at home!

Every Friday, the counselors select a boy and girl Camper of the Week. The boy Camper of the Week was Gabriel B. The girl Camper of the Week was Julia S. The Camper of the Week recipients receive a goody bag filled with treats. Congrats to our winners!

The first week of camp was successful. During week two, both camps will be combined at Jefferson due to the Cement Belt Fair. We are looking forward to another fun and exciting week!
