LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Whitehall library: Adult coloring club, June 28, has new coloring books, pencils

The fourth Tuesday adult coloring club is 11 a.m. June 28. Anyone 18 and older is welcome to join us.

A patron has donated three new adult coloring books and a huge box of colored pencils!

The library also has some other supplies but invites you to bring your own, too. If you need supplies, check with A.C. Moore, Ollie’s and Five Below stores.

The library recently digitized Whitehall High School yearbooks from 1922 to 2014. We are able to provide copies on DVDs that can be displayed on a computer.

We have sold copies to alumni in Arizona, California, Indiana, New York and, of course, to many Pennsylvania folks.

Complete an order form and mail in your payment to receive your copy. Order forms are available at the front desk or on our website. Call the library for pricing.

This would make a great gift for someone!

Did you know the library has MP3 recorded books? While these books are on CD media, they require an MP3-compatible CD player to play, or they can be copied through a computer to an MP3 player.

This collection can fit an entire novel on one disc. That means no more changing disks on the highway. Cars.com reports, “Nearly all cars from this century with CD players have MP3 compatibility.” Are you not sure if your CD player is able to play these? Check out an MP3 audio book, and try to play it.

The library has a collection of MP3 disks, and Overdrive has MP3 audio books available for download as well.

On a personal note, on my 1,589-mile round trip to Indiana, I listened to three books and never had to worry about changing discs while driving!

The theme this year is sports and exercise. Our program is for all ages - kids, teens and adults. We will have special programs and activities for all to attend.

On Your Mark, Get Set, Read @ the Library is the theme for kids; Get in the Game @ the Library is the theme for teens; and Exercise Your Mind @ the Library is the adult theme.

We are asking each participant to read at least 20 minutes a day and keep track of the author and titles for the books.

Check out our website or stop by the circulation desk for more information. Stop by and see our display cases, too!
