Salisbury summer playground program begins
The 2016 Salisbury Township playground program is up and running for the summer. The dates are weekdays 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesday evenings 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 20 to July 29.
There will be programs at Green Acres, Lindberg, Devonshire and Laubach parks. The program is open for township students entering first grade through age 12 and registration forms are available at each park.
Another popular summer activity is movie-going. The Carmike Promenade 16 is hosting a summer kid series 10 a.m. every Wednesday and Thursday through Aug. 18. There is an admission fee and the fee includes popcorn and a small drink. The movie “Home” will be shown June 22 and 23. “How to Train your Dragon 2” will be screened June 29 and 30.
There will be summer library hours hosted by Salisbury High School librarian Robin Burns 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 29 at SHS. Books will be available for all ages.
Sign ups for the Salisbury Youth Association Fall baseball program will continue through the end of June. There is a skill honing program for T-ball and minors level players and competitive teams for ages eight through 15. The season runs mid-July through the end of September. A special board meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. June 22 in the administration building.
Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will continue the summer concert series with the Jerusalem Western Salisbury Festival Band playing 7:30 p.m. July 5. The concert is free; however, an offering will be collected.
The Devonshire drop-off center is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 2 and 5. The days of operation are on the first and third Tuesday and Saturday of the month. Summer evening hours have started and run through the month of July. Devonshire is open 3 to 6 p.m. June 23, 27 and 30.
