Hokendauqua: Legion to host Sojourn concert

At American Legion Post 739, 3154 N. Front St., there will be a free concert, featuring Steve Brosky Big Lil’ Band, 6-8 p.m. June 27 to celebrate the 20th annual Lehigh River Sojourn.

Also at the event will be an Ironton Rail Trail bike tour (please provide your own bikes), a Whitehall veterans memorial program and live animals.

The 20th annual Lehigh River Sojourn is Wildlands Conservancy’s 54.5-mile guided paddling trip on the Lehigh River. The Lehigh River Sojourn begins in the Poconos and ends in Easton.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, will hold Vacation Bible School 6-8 p.m. the week of July 25 with a closing program July 31.

Registration forms can be picked up in the church office or narthex.

As a reminder, Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church, 3300 Seventh St., will host a Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative community meal 4:30-7 p.m. June 21.

The meal is free and guaranteed for the first 100 guests.

Camp Rhythmo is currently taking enrollments for its musical theater workshops. Programs take place at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road.

Disney’s “Aladdin,” a one-week workshop for students in grades 1-8, takes place 9 a.m.-1 p.m. July 18-22 with a performance July 22.

A two-week program for kindergarten through sixth-grade students will take place 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 1-12.

From 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 1-5, enroll your preschool child age 3-5 in the junior program, “Dancing Through the Fairy Tales.”

As a goal to be the “best small car show in Pennsylvania,” Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church is planning its eighth annual Wheels of Faith car show and craft fair event 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 20.

The church again will donate part of the proceeds to Whitehall Food Pantry.
