Darran Lee Heintzelman, 57, of Auburn, Schuylkill County, formerly of the Lehigh Valley, died May 25, 2016 in his home.

He and his wife Janice B. (Blaszczak) Heintzelman were married four years on Aug. 27, 2015.

Born April 23, 1959, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Ronald Heintzelman Sr. and Shirley (Hilbert) Bartos and her husband, Mitch of Catasauqua.

Faithfully and honorably serving his country in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne, and earning the rank of staff sergeant during Desert Storm, Desert Shield and the Panama Crisis, he received the Meritorious Service Medal.

He was a welder/fabricator at Bartush Signs Inc., Orwigsburg, before retiring.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by children, Lisa Ray of North Carolina, Darran Lee Jr. of Texas; stepchildren Catherine Donato of South Carolina, Elizabeth Shapot of West Chester, Phillip Hemingway III of West Chester; siblings Ronald Jr. of Florida, Jeffrey of Coplay, Kathy Scheirer of Catasauqua; and four grandchildren.
