Coplay: Borough pool’s official opening is Flag Day, June 14

Coplay’s Parkway Pool will open for the summer June 14. The pool, at Second and Keefer streets, will be open daily through the end of August. The hours are noon-7 p.m. in June, noon-8 p.m. in July and noon-7 p.m. in August.

There still is time to purchase season pool passes. Family season passes are $105 for borough residents and $190 for families outside of Coplay.

An adult borough resident’s season pool pass is $55, and an out-of-town person’s cost is $80.

Students from the borough pay $40 for a season pass, and students residing outside of town are charged a $50 fee.

The daily pool admission fee for Coplay residents is $5 and $9 for out-of-town residents.

Seniors are admitted free.

Returning this year is the popular aqua Zumba classes on Mondays, the first beginning 6:30-7:30 p.m. June 20.

There is a small fee.

Coplay Senior Citizens Club will meet 1 p.m. June 15 in the social hall of Commitment to Family and Community, Cherry Street.

Coplay Public Library begins its summer reading program June 18. Registration is underway at the library.

There is a party when summer ends for those in the reading club. There also will be prizes for those who read the most books.

Coplay Borough Council holds workshop meetings the first Tuesday of the month, 7 p.m., with no official action is taken.

The regular meetings are held 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month.

Meetings are open to the public; individuals can address council on the topic of their choice.
