Marian E. Whitner

Marian E. Whitner, 87, from Allentown, died on May 18, 2016, in Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown.

She was the wife of the late George A. Whitner.

Born in Trexlertown, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Hallie (Snyder) Saeger.

She enjoyed being an election officer at the Cetronia Fire Hall polling place.

A kind and caring wife, mother and grandmother she used her talent to make clothes for her family as well as knit sweaters for children in need around the world.

She was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield, and a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Allentown.

Her survivors include a son Robert G. of Kutztown, widower of the late Roslyn Whitner; daughter Linda W. and her husband, Frank Kaunitz, of Teton Village, Wyo.; sister Barbara of Macungie, wiidow of the late William Rupp; grandchildren, Matthew, Heidi, Audra, Megan, Derek; and great-granddaughter Paislee.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Special Olympics, Wyoming, c/o Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown, PA 18102.
