Donavon R. Bauer, 80, of Schnecksville, died May 17, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Patricia A. (Galio) Bauer were married 28 years last May 20.

Born July 13, 1935, in Slatedale, he was the son of the late Arthur and Roma I. (Seek) Bauer.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during a peacetime era.

In 1982, he graduated from Bradley University, with a degree in physical therapy.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Semmel Excavating, Allentown, for 20 years before retiring in 2000.

Prior to that, he was a truck driver for the former Hess’s Department Store for 20 years.

He currently was working for Zellner Farms, Heidelberg Township.

He was a member of Hagerstown Missionary Church, Hagerstown, Md.

A life member of American Legion Post 945, Wormleysburg, and Community Fire Co. No. 1, Schnecksville, he was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and the Copeechan Fish and Game Club, Schnecksville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Deborah Kichline of Palmerton, Lorrie Schneck of Slatington, Terri Jo Aguilar of Slatington, Nicholas R. Gildner of Lehighton; and grandchildren Danielle, Bryce and Mason.

He was predeceased by a brother Douglas Bauer.
