Catasauqua: YMCA announces golf outing winners

Suburban North Family YMCA would like to congratulate the following winners of the 22nd annual Russell Miller/Danny Danko Memorial Golf Outing that was held at Willowbrook Golf Club April 30.

Longest drive, man: Ryan O’Neill

Longest drive, woman: Karen Hendricks

Longest drive, senior: Ed Csencsits

Putting contest: Larry Pritchard, 2 in hole

Closest to pin: Al Moyer, Nick Jones, Fred Hutterer Jr., Doug Moll and Mike Frantz

Low score foursome: Larry Pritchard, Christina Pritchard, Loran Pritchard and Mike Buschta

Runner-up low score foursome: Warren Steckel, Dave Gillespie, Tom Burkholder and Dewey Gillespie

Catasauqua Fire Police will be having a flea market 8 a.m.-2 p.m. May 28 at the fire training grounds off Race Street.

Food and drinks will be sold.

Bring your own table and pop-up.

No electric will be provided.

Catasauqua Pool will be open weekends starting May 28 until June 7. Hours are noon-8 p.m. May 28 and June 4, noon-7 p.m. May 29 and 30 and June 5.

Effective June 7, the pool will be open noon-7 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and noon-8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Pool passes are available for purchase at the YMCA in Catasauqua or at the pool box office during business hours.

To receive the resident rate, all residents of 18032 ZIP code will need to show proof of residency.

Also, a variety of swim lessons and aqua Zumba classes will be offered this summer in Catasauqua.

The youth of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Fourth and Pine streets, are hosting a junior Victorian tea and basket raffle 2-4 p.m. June 12. Doors open 1:30 p.m. for the basket raffle.

Kid-friendly beverages, desserts, activities and door prizes will be available.

This event will be fun for kids age 3 to 103.

Dads, sons and grandsons are welcome!

Dress up or come casual. There will be a prize for the best dressed.

One-hundred percent of the funds raised will benefit Trinity’s youth activities fund and Numan Orphanage in Ethiopia.

J4 fliers were delivered to all the homes in Catasauqua and North Catasauqua. If you didn’t receive one, they are available at the North Catasauqua and Catasauqua borough halls.

The fliers contain information for the celebration July 3.

The J4 committee is looking for arts and craft vendors, food vendors and flea market vendors. If you are interested, pick up an application form at Schlegel’s Dry Cleaners, 120 Race St., or call 610-264-1466.
