Okay everyone, start running “Pomp and Circumstance” through your head…… Can you believe it is that time already? I can’t, because my son will be marching down that aisle this year.

Time flies. I still remember him being so excited to get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten. And now he is even more excited to see those 13 years at Salisbury Township School District come to an end.

The Baccalaureate service will be held 7 p.m. June 2 at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown. The graduation ceremony will be 6 p.m. June 9 at Allentown Symphony Hall. Admission to graduation is by ticket only.

All Salisbury Township schools will be closed May 26, 27 and 30 for teacher professional development days and in celebration of Memorial Day. I don’t know about you, but I need those days to get my flowers and vegetables planted. It has been so cold and rainy, I am very behind schedule for yard work.

Do you love show tunes? If so, come out to Broadway Night 7 p.m. June 6 at Salisbury High School. We have some very talented students who I’m sure will put on a fabulous show.

It is also time for the students to get ready to say goodbye to their school laptops. The middle school is first on the list, with collections beginning June 9. If your student has anything on their laptop that they want to keep, they will need to put it on a flash drive before the laptop is collected.

If your student is planning on playing a fall sport or participate in band or twirling for Salisbury Middle School or high school, a physical is required before practices begin. The school district will provide a physical for a small fee June 1 at the high school. Visit the school website for a complete time schedule. Enter by the old gym and come 15 minutes before your scheduled time to make sure all paperwork is complete.

An operations committee meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. June 6 at the Salisbury Township School District administration building, 1140 Salisbury Road.

The Devonshire drop-off center will be open May 31, June 4 and 7. The hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday and Saturday of the month.
