Good luck to Salisbury High School Freddy Award nominees Carolyn Boulay, Dane Galbraith and Abigail Garrigan at the 2016 Freddy Awards!

The Freddy Awards are 7 p.m. May 26 and can be watched live on WFMZ. Four SHS students will be performing in the opening and closing numbers of the Freddys: Juniors David Eckhart and Jesse Long and seniors Dane Galbraith and Abigail Garrigan. Break a leg!

Applications for the Portuguese American Club Scholarship are still available in the SHS counseling office. One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior living in the immediate area of the Lehigh Valley. Applicants must be of Portuguese ancestry and their parents must be members of the Portuguese American Club for a minimum of three years. Applicants are due in the counseling office May 26.

School will be closed May 26 through 30. Enjoy your extended Memorial Day break.

SHS and Salisbury Middle School fall athletic physicals will take place June 1 at the SHS health room. Any student who intends to play a fall sport, serve as a fall team manager, be in the marching band or participate in twirling must have an athletic physical before official practice begins. There is a fee to have the athletic physical at SHS. Cash or checks payable to STSD will be accepted. Girls physicals start 5 p.m. and boys physicals start 5:45 p.m. Those interested in physicals should arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time so aides can make sure paperwork has been completed properly. Paperwork will be available at SMS and SHS starting May 25.

Fall athletic paperwork should be turned into the athletic office by Aug. 4 if the fall sport begins practicing the week of Aug. 8. The last day of school for SHS seniors is June 3. Graduation will take place June 9 at Symphony Hall in Allentown. The last day of school for all other students is June 15.
