The library is proud to announce it has been awarded $7,500 from the Harry C. Trexler Trust.

The money will be used to purchase new carpeting on the main floor. Work is set to begin in September.

Storytime with Miss Jo will be 11 a.m. May 19 and 26 and June 2.

No preregistration is required, and all ages are welcome to participate.

An adult coloring session will be from noon to 3 p.m. May 21.

Scrabble night will be 5-7 p.m. May 23.

The library will host a fundraiser at Wisecrackers Comedy Club at Ramada Inn, Whitehall, June 4. The doors will open 8 p.m., with the comedy show, featuring Chris Coccia, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The library will receive a portion of each ticket we sell.

Tickets are available at the library or from any board member.

We still have some openings for teenagers who would like to join our volunteers group and help with the summer reading program.

If you know any teenagers who might be interested, please have them stop by the library for an application.

The library is now accepting donations for our October book sale. We no longer accept VHS tapes, encyclopedias or textbooks, but we welcome puzzles, books and DVDs.

Your donations are tax deductible, and you will receive a thank you letter for your records.

If you would like to drop off donations, our business hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The library will be closed May 28-30 for the Memorial Day weekend. Any materials due on those dates will be due May 31.
