Testing, testing, testing. The PSSAs are over and now we have the Keystone exams.

I’ll start with the middle school information. Those students in the eighth grade algebra 1 class will take the algebra 1 Keystone exam May 18 and 19 during the regular school day.

The high school schedule is a little more complicated. The testing lineup is as follows: algebra 1- May 16 and 17, biology - May 18 and 19 and literature - May 20 and 23. If your student is testing, they will go to school at the regular time on those days. Students who are not testing will start school on a two-hour delay May 17, 18, 19, 20 and 23.

Please note May 16, non-testing students will start on a two and a half hour delay because the algebra test takes a little longer. Busing is available for both testing and non-testing students.

Salisbury High School students will hold a car wash at the middle school 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 14. Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will be given to the Autism Society of the Lehigh Valley.

SHS soccer players, Ethan Heydt, Tyler Keller, Mahlon Reihman and coaches will hold the second annual youth soccer clinic 1 to 3 p.m. May 21 and 22 at the high school. Beginner and experienced soccer players in grades one through five should register at www.surveymonkey.com/r/KYCM8W5.

Western Salisbury Elementary School will host a family night at the spring book fair 6 to 8 p.m. May 16. If unable to attend, all students will visit the fair during the school day throughout the week.

The WSE PTA is sponsoring a color-a-thon and after party 8:30 a.m. to noon May 21 at WSE.

Led by Stan Griffis, the elementary school bands from Harry S Truman Elementary School and WSE will perform together 7 p.m. May 24 at HST.

A school board meeting is scheduled 7:30 p.m. May 18 at the administration building, 1140 Salisbury Road.

The last coffee and conversation with school administrators will be held 6 to 6:45 p.m. May 23. RSVP to Mary Bishop at 610-797-2062, ext. 1000, if you plan to attend.

A curriculum and technology meeting will immediately follow coffee and conversation 7 p.m., also in the administration building.

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will hold its community breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. May 14. With a special Mother’s Day theme, the menu will include an eggs Benedict casserole, blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes, lavender scones and strawberry lemonade bars. A donation is suggested. All proceeds benefit the 275th anniversary celebration.

The Devonshire drop-off center is open May 17 and 21. The hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday and Saturday of the month.
