Although the calendar says May, it is a little too soon to plant your annual flowers. The rule of thumb is to wait until May 15, or later, when the danger of frost has passed.

After May 15, indulge in buying colorful bedding plants and beautify your yard.

Take breaks while working outside, for edging, mulching and weeding can be strenuous.

Stop by Whitehall Township Public Library 6:30 p.m. May 16 for open mic night. Either plan to show off your own talent or enjoy the entertainment provided.

Mayfair Festival of the Arts will take place at The Allentown Fairgrounds May 27-30. Make plans to stop by and enjoy art, music and delicious food.
