Carole Ann (Rapp) Longenderfer, 75, of Emmaus, died May 4, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of John E. Longenderfer. They were married 54 years. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Theodore A. Rapp Sr. and Marian (Sener) Rapp.
She was a devoted member of Zion Lehigh Evangelical Lutheran Church, Alburtis. She actively sang on the church choir for numerous years and faithfully participated in the annual craft bazaar.
She was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and was employed as a medical assistant at Lehigh Valley Pediatrics for many years until her retirement.
She was an avid knitter, crafter and gardener, but more importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; children, Wendy, of Macungie, Mark and his wife Dana, of Richmond, Va.; Matthew and his wife Carolyn, of West Chester, Gretchen and her husband Shawn Clay, of Allentown and Michael and his wife Megan, of Breinigsville; sister, Susan and her husband Michael DeStasio, of Leesport; brother Dr. Robert D. Rapp, of Laureldale; granddaughters, Katherine, Riley, Emily and Madison Longenderfer; Teresa and Samantha Clay and Sarah and Anna Longenderfer; three grandsons, Nicholas, Jack and DeWolf Longenderfer. She was predeceased by a brother, Theodore Rapp, of Laureldale.
