Walter P. Boyer, Jr., 73, of Macungie, died May 2, 2016. He was the husband of Carmella S. (Marsteller) Boyer. They were married 52 years in April. Born in Alburtis, he was a son of the late Walter P., Sr. and Idella L. (Diehl) Boyer.

He retired from Allen Organ Co., where he worked in assembly and shipping for 10 years. Previously he was a Western Union teletype repairman for 21 years.

He was a member of Solomon’s United Church of Christ, Macungie and Alburtis Rod and Gun Club.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and played softball numerous years for Breinigsville and Agway teams.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Preston and his wife, Valerie and Marshall and his wife, Cathy; brother Larry and his wife, Sandra; sister, Maryann, wife of James Boyer; step-grandsons Adam and Andrew Minnich; brother-in-law Roger Fogel; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Fogel.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. May 6 in the Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville. A calling hour will begin 10 a.m. May 6.
