Union UCC to have Country Sale
Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will be hosting its annual Country Sale 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on May 7.
The festive day will feature plenty of good food and fellowship and an opportunity to meet people from the church and community.
Lunch will be available with a variety of selections to eat in or take out.
Look for homemade soups, baked goods and interesting menu choices.
Vendors will be set up outside and indoors with all kinds of yard sale items, including plants, clothing, toys and more.
There will also be a quilt raffle.

Upper Lehigh Lions Club is having a chicken barbecue dinner noon to 6 p.m. May 21 at the Schnecksville Fire Co. pavilion.
Meal includes half a chicken, baked potato, pickled cabbage and drink.
Eat in or take-out meals will be available.

Advance orders are preferred although there will be some available for walk-ins.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, honored Pastor James Gottwald on his 10th anniversary of ministry to the congregation.
After a pleasant luncheon, Pastor Gottwald received several gifts including a book, commemorative picture and wall hanging made by church members.
He commented on his time at the church.
“It has been a joy to minister with St. John’s for the last 10 years,” Gottwald said. “You have helped me to learn a great deal and with God’s help, we have accomplished much.
“I look forward to where God will lead us in the future.”

Dinner includes half a chicken, baked potato, pepper cabbage and applesauce.
Meals may be eaten in or taken out.
Dinner is sponsored by Lehigh-Northampton Pomona Grange 68 to benefit the Allentown Fair queen program and the $1,000 scholarship awarded to the queen.
Aliza Nyce, last year’s fair queen, will be present to meet people and to help serve the dinner.
Advance orders are recommended, as there are a limited number of extras.
Chickens will be barbecued at the grange.
