Coplay Public Library will be having a spring basket social 4-7 p.m. May 14 during St. Peter Roman Catholic Church’s chicken or ham dinner.

Baskets will be on preview at the library starting May 9. If anyone would like to donate a basket or items for the social, drop them off at the library.

Presale tickets for the dinner will be on sale at the library; tickets at the door will cost more.

Celebrate mothers in May with our Mother’s Day display. This year we are featuring the First Ladies - the “Mothers of Our Country.” Join us in learning some fun facts about these women who earned their own special place in our nation’s history.

Stop by the library May 11 for free blood pressure screenings. Our friends at Cetronia Ambulance Corps will be on hand 1-3 p.m. to assist you.

Story Time with Miss Jo will be 11 a.m. May 5, 12 and 19. No preregistration is necessary. All ages are welcome to join the group.

Join us for fun and games at the library. Adult coloring takes place noon-3 p.m. every Saturday.

Scrabble Night will be 5-7 p.m. May 23. Our experts are always looking for a challenge!

The library will be closed May 28 and 30 to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend. Any materials due on those dates will be due on May 31 instead.

Any teenagers who would like to join our volunteers group to help with our summer reading program should stop into the library for an application.

We are now accepting donations for our October book sale. We do not accept VHS tapes, encyclopedias and textbooks, but puzzles, books and DVDs are always welcome. Remember, your donations are tax deductible and we send out thank you letters as a receipt.

If you have donations, you may drop them off at the library during business hours: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
