Joao L. Almeida, Holy Infancy Catholic Church member

Joao L. Almeida, 61, of Bethlehem, died April 19, 2016,at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Trancoselos, Portugal, he was a son of the late Antonio and Emilia (Lopes) Almeida. He was the husband of Maria L. (Costa) Almeida for 36 years.

He worked at Joao and Bradley Contractors.

He was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

He was a member of the Portuguese American Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Monica and her husband Robert Martrich of Allentown and Marcia and her fiancé Angel Velazquez of Bethlehem, a brother, Adelino Almeida and two sisters, Violeta and Lisete Almeida, all in Portugal; six grandchildren, Jordan Rex, Blake and Shane Martrich, and Jovanni, Julianna and Jazlynn Velazquez; his mother-in-law, Maria DaCosta; nieces; nephews; brothers-in-law; and sisters-in-law.

He was predeceased by a brother, Francisco DeAlmeida; and two sisters, Isaura Vilaverde and Graciete Fiahlo.
